How to prepare for a mobile car detailing appointment

A few simple steps can make the appointment smoother and help the detailer focus on cleaning rather than moving personal items or resolving access issues.

Toronto & GTA4-minute read

1. Remove important personal items

Take out valuables, documents, loose change, medication, work equipment and anything you do not want moved. Small everyday items can be grouped in a bag if they need to remain nearby.

2. Confirm the working location

Make sure the vehicle can remain parked for the expected service time and that there is enough room to open doors and safely work around it. For condos or workplaces, confirm building or property permission.

3. Share access details before arrival

Tell the detailer about underground clearance, gate access, visitor parking, loading rules, paid parking, lighting, drainage restrictions and access to water or electricity.

4. Send honest condition photos

Photograph pet hair, salt buildup, stains, spills, odours, third-row seating and heavy debris. Accurate photos help the detailer estimate labour and bring the right tools.

5. Identify special concerns

Mention sensitive materials, damaged trim, warning lights, loose upholstery, leaking areas or items that should not be cleaned. A walk-around before the service helps document pre-existing damage.
